Aaron has lived in Marquette his whole life and considers himself lucky to be able to call it home. He enjoys many outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, backpacking, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, camping, hiking and snowshoeing. Since graduating from Northern Michigan University with his Bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness Management, Aaron has had the wonderful opportunity to be a full-time personal trainer for 10 years. During this time Aaron has also received his Masters degree in Exercise Science. Aaron's other passion is education. He is contingent faculty in the Health and Human Performance department at Northern Michigan University and also enjoys educating his clients during their Holistic Lifestyle Coaching sessions.

Born and raised in Marquette, Phil received his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Health and Fitness Management from Northern Michigan University. He is blessed to wake up every morning and come to a job that he loves. With a strong passion for golf, it's not uncommon to see him out at the course in the summer when he's not at the gym. His love for the outdoors parallels over with taking his clients outside when the weather permits! His goal is to have his clients leave the doors every time feeling the best they ever had with a smile on their face knowing they CAN do it.
Ronald Berry MS, CSCS, CHEK Exercise Coach, HLC Level 1, Golf Performance Specialist
After finishing his education at Norwich University in Vermont Ron followed a lovely woman to the UP and Marquette, Michigan became his home. He feels fortunate to have been able to establish his career and begin his family in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. The best part of being a personal trainer, he says, is "being a positive influence on every person I have the privilege to work with." Ron has earned his Masters in Exercise Science from Northern Michigan University and is contingent faculty in the Health and Human Performance department at Norther Michigan University.
Douglas Baker BS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT, CHEK Exercise Coach, HLC Level 1, Golf Performance Specialist
Doug is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. He is originally from Marquette and enjoys an active lifestyle as well as assisting, motivating, and encouraging others to do the same. Doug has always been interested in trying new modalities of fitness and loves challenging the body and mind in new ways. In the gym you will find Doug on the gymnastic rings, deadlifting, or swinging from the rafters. In his free time he enjoys being outdoors while woodworking or mountain biking, or practicing yoga and "fine tuning" his golf swing.
Doug Latvala BS, NSCA -CPT, CHEK Exercise Coach, HLC Level 1
Doug is a graduate of Western Michigan University. He has been working as a personal trainer for 5 years and is also currently working on his Master's in Human Performance Improvement. He believes that being healthy is a way of life and there is no better place to live that healthy way of life than Marquette. He truly enjoys working with people of all different ages, ability levels, and objectives. Doug also has a passion for the outdoors, where he loves to fish, camp and hunt.
Alyssa Erspamer NSCA-CPT, PTA
Alyssa is a graduate of Finlandia University with an Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistant. She was a member of Northern Michigan University’s track and field team as a sprinter for 1 year and Finlandia’s basketball team for 1 season. Alyssa enjoys helping clients set new, realistic fitness goals and rock them! When she is not at the gym, Alyssa works as a therapist assistant at Horizon HealthWorks. She also spends her time as a vocalist for the local band, Nothing Less. She is blessed to work alongside the Superior Fitness team.
Ryan Craig NSCA-CPT
Since an early age Ryan has had an obsession with sports and competition. After his mother noticed a great affinity for the water she decided to let him try out for the local swim team in Escanaba, the Delta Dolphins. Wrestling was next, followed by boxing, BMX racing and football in high school. This led to achieving a Bachelor of Science in Health and Fitness Management from Northern Michigan University. Prior to working at Superior Fitness, Ryan had 3 years of personal training and group exercise leadership experience. He will be continuing his education in the fall of 2016, working towards his Masters of Exercise Science. Ryan can be found in his natural habitat flying down the mountain bike trails in Marquette, and Blackrocks brewery post-ride. Other passions include: hiking, camping, cliff diving, slacklining, snowboarding, President of NMU’s club cycling team, civic activism, playing with his pup, learning and lounging at the beach!
Randy Ayotte LMT
Randy has been practicing massage therapy since the spring of 2012 when he graduated from the Marquette School of Therapeutic Massage. He is a licensed massage therapist in the state of Michigan and has a B.S. in Physical Education with a minor in Health and Nutrition. "A few things I really enjoy about massage therapy are that I get to help individual clients with different goals, injuries and concerns. Every session is unique and may consist of relaxation, stress reduction, or therapeutic techniques for a specific muscle injury. As a former athlete and physical education major, I know how important massage therapy is to an individuals overall wellness. Massage therapy gives me the opportunity to help the people in the community that I grew up in and give back to the city that I love. "
Jared Jarvi NSCA-CPT
Jared has been working as a personal trainer for 2 years. Even at a young age, he has had a passion for health and fitness. Jared played multiple sports in high school, and ran track and cross country for Michigan Tech University. After his track career, Jared left his hometown of Chassell and came to Marquette to follow his passion in the fitness world. He feels blessed to be able to help people of all ages and ability levels reach their goals. Outside of the gym you can find Jared running the trails with his dog or playing pickup basketball.
